A letter from MattE and Leslee

Two days removed from the Community Build, we find ourselves still in awe of all of you. Dick Dominica, who has been a part of many of these builds, said, “Bar none, you guys had the best volunteers. The best attitude. The best work ethic. The most fun.” That was great to hear, and is a reflection of why we are so very humbled to have all of you having partnered with us on this. It speaks to your character and your hearts. Thank you for being our friends and our partners in this foundation.

We were asked a great question by a friend of ours who deals with disadvantaged kids a lot. He said, “do you guys realize what you did? You did not just build a playground.” That got us thinking, do you guys realize what WE ALL did? We did not just build a playground. We showed love to kids who don’t necessarily believe strangers love them. We gave hope to kids who don’t always feel hopeful about their circumstances. We provided an example of being givers to kids who need positive examples. We gave a small bit of proof to communities that when a bunch of ordinary people come together with a giving heart, extraordinary things happen. We gave a great space to kids to just be kids. We highly encourage everyone who built to take an afternoon, go register as a guest at the Boys and Girls Club, and just watch the joy the kids are having playing on the playground. Pray for these kids, pray for ways for God to speak to their hearts. Pray for ways that you can help. Can you tutor? Volunteer? Help chaperone summer field trips? Aid financially? Coach a basketball team? The Boys and Girls Club can and would love to use you.

We will finish with stating this again. You guys are amazing. We are very humbled that you chose to trust us with your time and money to find a worthy cause. We hope you came away feeling you contributed to a worthy cause. We will continue to seek out worthy causes that, “Glorify God, by aiding orphaned and disadvantaged children in Polk County, Florida, and throughout the world.”
